Tonight was easier... starting around 5PM and (I) wrapped at 3AM.

We bought 3rd street and took it back in time...

The night was capped by disco Birmingham Police...

Started my day at noon shooting a slew of reference/texture stills at Rickwood and ended as the sun rose around 6. Yikes!

It's a much different place at night...

We even supplied our own lights...

Much better workflow today... getting a simple routine that everyone knows is a big help.

Not so many glorious photo ops today and we would have gone forever but the setting sun and loss of light closed it out for us...

And after the troops had cleared we were left with...

  

Then main unit continued to shoot at a creepy dark Legion Field...

Off like a rocket. From zero to full blast, we started shooting today.

Hiding in the shade of a man made eclipse...

Surrounded by heavenly skies...

But mainly focused on keeping these very useful witness cams going...

Actually, from the productions perspective today was day 0. Some sort of deal where they can save a few $ by not calling it a "real" production day even though we shot for 10 hours.

Anyhow I started the morning with a bit of a surprise while sitting to put on my socks...

 

Then I discovered that I've misplaced my Hammerhead hat so I ventured downtown to get another. Not much design selection...

We shot across the street from the first integrated public building in Alabama, the library...

And finally dinner with Candida at a "Mexican" restaurant. We waited for them to turn on the lights and at least half were burned out...

Arrived in Birmingham from Atlanta via a very rainy highway pocked with trucks, construction and speed traps. After checking into the Sheraton...

 

I went in search of a fallen steeple I had seen on an earlier scout. I found...
